Good Robot vs. Islamic Centre
In 2016, a simple neighbourly dispute between a mosque and a brewery turned into a small business PR nightmare. The media attention drove outrage directed at both of our organisations. By following our values, we navigated the media landscape with a happy ending for both parties and droves of positive media coverage. This story was Good Robot’s top-queried search for years. It is the subject of one of my guest speaking topics and is one of my proudest memories with Good Robot Brewing.
Rubbergate
A Valentine’s Day promotion gone wrong. Border patrol seized hundreds of condoms branded with Good Robot’s logo that we ordered for a Valentine’s Day promotion. Taking to online media, we turned a $100 investment into an international media story, including coverage in CBC, CTV and BuzzFeed.
Crop Top Tolerance
After several customers complained about the personal attire of one of Good Robot’s serving staff, we stood in solidarity by creating Crop Top Tolerance Day, garnering much media attention and becoming an annual celebration of individualism and expression.
